Sri Sharma is a Consultant Ophthalmologist who specialises in Medical Ophthalmology. She leads the regional uveitis ( ocular inflammation) service for adults and children service in Oxford. She also specialises in neuro-ophthalmology and medical retinal conditions. She is the Ophthalmic lead for national specialist services for neurofibromatosis 2 and neuromyelitis optica in conjunction with her neurology colleagues.
She completed two fellowships in the USA, in uveitis at the Casey Eye Institute and neuro-ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore. Her training in Medicine and Ophthalmology was at the University of Bristol.
She has research interests in uveitis and several publications in this field. She is also leading a national study in hydroxychloroquine toxicity in the retina.
