I am a fully qualified and BACP Accredited / Registered psychotherapeutic counsellor and clinical supervisor with an educational background and experience of working with individuals and couples.
I have been working in a group supervision setting, both as a participant and facilitator, for a number of years. I attend supervision both for my counselling and supervision work in order to ensure the best outcomes for my clients and supervisees and subscribe to the BACP Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling.
I have trained Integratively, which means that I practise different counselling models: Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Existential Therapy. I have experience in short- as well as long-term work. My work experience includes working with minority, multicultural and LGBTQ+ clients and the provision of Gender, Sexuality & Relationship Diversity (GSRD) affirmative therapy.
I aim to offer every client a safe, confidential and supportive space where you can explore your innermost thoughts and feelings in the knowledge that you will not be judged. This lack of judgement is the main condition of a therapeutic space and it makes the therapeutic relationship different from any other relationship you have experienced before in your life as a family member, friend or colleague.
In order to maintain the professional boundaries of our relationship I am bound by the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy Ethical Framework, which governs professional practice of counsellors and psychotherapists in the United Kingdom.
Depending on your reasons for seeking therapy, this experience may be literally a life changing one for you and it is paramount that you as a client feel safe enough to explore the issues, question yourself and increase your awareness of the distressing factors in your life, as well as ultimately resolve the problems for which you accessed therapy in the first place.
This work can take any length of time, depending on the nature of the problem, your readiness to tackle the issue and your level of engagement in the process. Therapy can bring up all kinds of feelings within you, which I as a counsellor should be able to explore with you without any danger to yourself or others.
Areas of interest
The areas I cover in my clinical work are:
Anxiety; Depression; Anger Management, Relationship Issues; Self-Esteem Issues; Addictions
My experience includes working with the minority, multicultural and LGBTQI clients, as well as couples and I provide Gender, Sexuality and Relationship Diversity (GSRD) affirmative therapy.
Due to the current pandemic, all of the sessions are conducted online via FaceTime, Skype, Zoom or by telephone. I am also offering therapy outside in nature, rather than in an enclosed space, to mitigate any risks to health, while adhering to the social distancing regulations. Walk and Talk Therapy takes place close to my clinical practice indoors, in Little Venice / Westbourne Green, close to Royal Oak Underground Station, W2 6ET.
