About me

I am a specialist Colorectal Surgeon in the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Western General Hospital Edinburgh. A graduate of University College Dublin, I spent time as a Research Fellow in Cornell University, New York before commencing higher surgical training in Edinburgh in 2002. Following completion of a specialist surgical fellowship at the renowned Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Sydney I was appointed as a consultant colorectal surgeon in Gartnavel General Hospital, Glasgow in 2009.

I was appointed to my current post in 2014. I have extensive experience in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and an established reputation for the management of locally advanced pelvic cancers; I also receive referrals from throughout Scotland and abroad. I work in Spire Shawfair Park's endoscopy suite which holds JAG accreditation.
