Justin graduated from King’s College London Medical School in 2005. He initially specialised in General Practice and qualified in this field in 2010. He subsequently undertook further specialist training in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He has expertise in managing injuries of elite and recreational athletes as well as a variety of non-sport related musculoskeletal problems.
Justin is now a Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He currently works in the Defence Military Rehabilitation Centre at Headley Court as well as for a Premier League football club Academy and Ladies’ team. He also works at the English Institute of Sport elite athlete clinic in London.
Justin provides a community NHS musculoskeletal service for Wokingham CCG. Musculoskeletal ultrasound, including diagnosis and interventional procedures, is his specialist interest that is also offered within this service. He completed a PgC in this field at Bournemouth University.
Justin has worked extensively in football medicine. He was the Club Doctor of Reading F.C. for the 2014/15 season. He has been the medical officer for 1st Team and Academy squads since 2008, including the Premier League season of 2012/13. He has also provided pitch-side medical cover for other clubs including Tottenham Hotspur F.C. Academy and Bournemouth FC as well as the England Women’s Team.
Justin has worked as a Sports Medicine Doctor treating elite athletes in a variety of other disciplines. During the London 2012 Olympic Games he was part of the medical team at the Aquatics Centre for the Swimming and Diving events. He also worked for GB Hockey and Athletics, the University of East London High Performance Athletic Squad as well as at International Triathlon Championships.
Justin has been involved within Disability Sport. At the Paralympic Games in London 2012 he worked at the Athletes’ Village Medical Centre and track-side at the main stadium. He also provided medical support to the GB Wheelchair Tennis team.
Justin completed a Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health MSc degree at University College London and also published research regarding high-volume saline injections in the treatment of Achilles tendinopathy. He began investigating the role of bisphosphonates to treat symptomatic of bone marrow oedema in elite athletes at Stanmore Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital.
