About me

I am a Consultant Psychotherapist whose main therapeutic orientation is Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy (CBT) and Integrative Psychotherapy. I hold an MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy along with a CQSW Social Work/Probation qualification.

I am an Accredited Practitioner with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP). I am also a qualified clinical supervisor holding a PG Diploma in Supervision for both CBT and Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I held the post of Consultant Psychotherapist in the NHS for many years before I took early retirement in 2012. This was to enable me to concentrate on my private practice along with wanting to enjoy more time with her husband and grandchildren.
Having over 25 years of experience in working in Mental Health, the main focus of my work is with people who suffer from psychological difficulties following trauma along with working with other psychological presentations such as depression, panic, generalised anxiety, anxiety disorders, obsessive compulsive disorders, grief and loss, health anxiety, and stress related difficulties including work related stress.

I work with people 16 and upwards and will also work with couples. An assessment of a client's particular needs will always be undertaken in the first instance.

Areas of interest

Psychological difficulties following trauma; depression; panic disorder; generalised anxiety; anxiety disorders; obsessive compulsive disorders; loss and bereavement; health anxiety; pain; stress related difficulties including work related stress; childhood trauma; couples work.
