About me

I have been working in the field of psychological assessment and intervention with a range of client groups since 1997. More recently extending my expertise by utilising these skills in a training and development capacity alongside my clinical practice in the NHS.

My practice is largely influenced by structured therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behaviour therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy although my knowledge of therapeutic approaches is diverse.I am an Accredited Subject Matter Expert in DBT.

The main focus of my independent work currently involves the application of CBT change strategies and eastern philosophical acceptance strategies across a variety of settings but particularly adult mental health to promote health and well being, improved focus and productivity, and enhance individual functioning and/or team performance.

Within my NHS roles I provided DBT assessment,1:1 and group therapy to individuals with complex mental health difficulties. I have held responsibility for imparting psychological knowledge within the context of Team Consultation meetings as well as offering 1:1 case consultation to DBT team therapists with a focus on adherence and staff development.

I am also an Honorary Lecturer at the Universities of Coventry and Warwick offering lectures and supervision to doctoral clinical psychologists in training.
