About me

I am a fully-trained psychotherapist with 10 years (4,000 client hours) of experience in both general counselling and sexual trauma work. My practice, in Newark, Nottinghamshire, is comfortably and accessibly housed in a Chiropractic clinic in the centre of the town with parking nearby. Although trained in the Person-Centred tradition, I also draw upon a range of other psychotherapeutic approaches, including CBT, EMDR, Mindfulness, Existential Therapy and basic Neuroscience. The clients I see - individuals, couples and family groups - present a wide range of problems, including anxiety, depression and stress (often workplace related), grief, low self-esteem, anger, phobia, addiction, OCD and PTSD. I have also worked with clients affected by autism, ME and life-changing physical illnesses. I see myself as a committed professional, with high ethical standards and a caring, open approach to clients. Responses to my work from fellow professionals and, most importantly, clients themselves are very positive and reflect the beneficial changes I have helped people make in their lives. I am an Accredited Member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
