About me
I qualified from Keele University with a BSc Hons in Physiotherapy in 1999 and immediately began work as a physiotherapist at Aintree University Hospital. Within this NHS environment, I have remained employed by the Trust where I initially progressed very quickly from rotational to static musculoskeletal physiotherapist.
I have a number of roles within the field from therapist and manager to lecturer and mentor. I have both worked at and managed a satellite physiotherapy dept: Walton Hospital and then lectured to undergraduate students at Liverpool University on behalf of the NHS for a period of 2-3 years.
More recently I have returned to Aintree and have taken a post as lower limb extended scope practitioner, working with foot and ankle and knee surgeons and the physio dept. This has required the development of specialist knowledge in the management of lower limb pathology.
I am qualified as an injection therapist and have completed my Masters in Advanced Health Care Practice.
Currently I am actively involved in the development of a specialist heel pain clinic and an active member of the Association of Foot and Ankle Physiotherapists which meets regularly both nationally and regionally.
