Dr Marshall is a Consultant Cardiologist at East Sussex Healthcare NHS Trust. He qualified from Cambridge University and completed his cardiology training in London. He has expertise in all aspects of general cardiology but his sub-specialty interests are in cardiac imaging, heart valve disease and heart failure. He also leads the local Adult Congenital Heart Disease service.
He is accredited in echocardiography, cardiac CT and nuclear cardiology, and has also trained in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging.
He also has dual accreditation in General (Internal) Medicine.

In addition to general cardiology, Dr Marshall’s main professional and research interests include the use of multi-modality cardiac imaging in patients with ischaemic heart disease (IHD), valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy and heart failure. He has published research papers on the prognostic value of exercise capacity in IHD, and the role of echocardiography and radionuclide (nuclear) imaging in heart failure patients undergoing implantable device therapy.
