Dr Sai Murng is a consultant immunologist from the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. He has gained training in many specialties including respiratory medicine, acute medicine, genitourinary medicine and infectious diseases from many UK centres. He completed the immunology training from the immunology department of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS foundation trust in 2013. This department is one of the Protein Reference Units (PRU) in the UK and also provides regional clinical immunology and allergy services.
He took up the consultant immunologist post from 2013. He performs the immunology clinic at the Gartnavel General Hospital and manage various primary immunodeficiencies. He also provides allergy service through the severe allergy and anaphylaxis department at the Western Infirmary.
He is interested in personalised medicine and shared decision making in patient care.
Areas of interest
Adult Immunology and Allergy conditions:
1. Primary immunodeficiencies including Common Variable Immunodeficiency Disorders (CVID), Hereditary Angioedema (HAE)
2. Allergic conditions including food, drug, rhinitis etc
3. Urticaria (hives) and angioedema (swelling attacks)
