About me

I completed my Higher Specialist training in 2010, with rotational posts in various teaching and District General Hospitals in the East Midlands (South) deanery. I also undertook a 12 month advanced endoscopy fellowship in JAG (Joint Advisory Group on GI Endoscopy) accredited National Endoscopy training centre based in Northern General Hospital, Sheffield.

I have been a Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist based at the Northampton General Hospital (NGH) since May 2010 and hold a dual certificate of completion of training (CCT) in General Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. I was also awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Nottingham in December 2010. I am an elected Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, London.

I am one of the JAG accredited Gastroenterologists based at the NGH to perform screening colonoscopies as part of National Bowel Cancer screening programme (BCSP). This requires on-going commitment to undertake high quality colonoscopy procedures which are audited and peer reviewed nationally. My colonoscopy completion rate and adenoma detection rate is in line with national guidelines to maintain accreditation for delivery of procedures via BCSP.

I provide a comprehensive Gastroenterology consultation in various aspects of this field and have highlighted some of my interests below.

Areas of interest

- Gastroscopy; Colonoscopy; Flexible Sigmoidoscopy;
- Investigation and management of IBD (Inflammatory bowel diseases e.g. Ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease);
- Investigation and management of reflux symptoms, dyspepsia;
- Investigation and management of change in bowel habit including irritable bowel syndrome (IBS);
- Investigation and management of abnormal liver functions;
- Investigation of anaemia;
- Investigation for suspected Gastrointestinal cancer.
