About me
I am a qualified counsellor and an accredited member of the BACP. I have been working as a counsellor since 2005, fully qualifying in 2007 and acquiring accreditation status in 2014. The approaches I use are Person-Centred counselling, C.B.T. and Art Therapy.
I have been working in the Psychological Support Services at Whipps Cross University Hospital on a part time basis for fourteen years, as a Bereavement Counsellor. This also includes working with clients who have been given a life-threatening or terminal diagnosis sor who are a close family member of someone with a life-threatening diagnosis.
I also work from home seeing clients on a one to one and face to face basis, as well as telephone and face time video counselling. I see a variety of clients presenting with different issues including bereavement, anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, self harm and relationship difficulties.
I'm also experienced in working with Groups as a.facilitator, counsellor and supervisor.
I have also worked in a Hospital Maternity Unit counselling patients who were experiencing difficult pregnancies or had experienced a loss of a full term baby or a late termination or miscarriage.
My current experience includes working as a Trauma and Critical Incident Counsellor. This involves either one to one counselling or group counselling and further follow up for coping with trauma, if necessary.
I have facilitated support groups within the NHS for patients and their families diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness. Within the group setting, I have carried out art therapy, relaxation techniques and relaxation and visualisation narratives.
