Research interests
Mr Aziz has been involved in the development of evidence synthesis techniques to better guide healthcare decision-making and published over 100 peer-reviewed research papers, some of which have been used by institutions such as the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in their guidance. He has raised research grants to translate innovative technologies into medical devices that improve the outcome for patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery and other cancer treatments.
Personal interests
Having grown up in Turkey, Morocco, Pakistan, and Qatar, Mr. Aziz is a keen traveller and enjoys experiencing new cultures and languages. In his free time he enjoys playing tennis, football, and cooking.

Courses offered to GPs
Mr Aziz is a faculty member on a number of Christie School of Oncology and international post-graduate courses. He is passionate about teaching and has edited a surgical handbook entitled ‘Hospital Surgery’ (Cambridge University Press) targeted at final year medical students, F1-CT2 doctors, and allied health professionals. Mr Aziz is the lead for endoscopy and consent lead at The Christie, and teaches on GP training days and seminars.
