I graduated with honors degree from the University College of Seville (Spain). First of all, I obtained my MRCP at the Royal college of Physicians in Dublin (Ireland). I undertook a Specialist training programme in Cardiology obtaining a certificate of CCST in Cardiology (Dublin, Ireland). Furthermore, I conducted clinical research in the area of Diastolic Heart Failure (in particular, Interstitial Cardiac Fibrosis) at the University College of Dublin and the Conway Institute obtaining the diploma of MD in Cardiology. This ground breaking research allowed me to win the Irish Journal Medical Science award for the best Cardiology publication in Ireland and published widely in high impact international and national journals (Circulation and European Journal of Heart Failure).
I moved to the UK where I was fortunate to be awarded an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Royal Brompton and Harefield NHS Trust in London where I spent two years advancing my coronary angioplasty skills. Additionally, I worked as a Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at the Conquest University Hospital in Hastings and Torrejon University Hospital in Madrid, gaining excellent experience in more complex coronary and structural intervention.
I recently joined Burton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in September 2014 with a view to participate actively in the exciting initiation of the cardiac coronary angioplasty service at Queen’s Hospital which will improve the prognosis and treatment for all our patients with cardiac pathologies.
I can also provide Private Clinic Consultation Service should any of your patients wish to take this option, please feel free to refer.
