About me

I have been a counsellor in private practice for thirteen years and a supervisor for 5 years. I am an accredited member of the BACP and abide by the BACP code of ethics. My counselling experience includes working in the NHS, working with EAP’s, working with survivors of childhood sexual abuse, running counselling training course, facilitating therapy groups and managing a number counselling services. I currently co-run a two year Diploma in Counselling Practitioner Course.

My approach is humanistic which means which I respect and encourage the autonomy of clients within the therapeutic process. I also work in an integrative way where attention is given to the whole person (ie -physical, emotional, thoughts, experiences and perceptions) and draw from a range of therapeutic approaches - depending on the client’s needs and requirements. I also offer my clients the opportunity to work creatively either through writing or working with art materials

I work with clients from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and with individuals and groups. I am interested in the impact and the meaning of race, gender, sexuality and culture, as well as individual family history on our sense of identity.
