Prof Lee is a Professor of Medical Oncology at University College London (UCL), and a Consultant Medical Oncologist at UCL Hospitals (UCLH). He graduated from St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School in London, trained in internal medicine training at the London teaching hospitals of St Mary's, St Bartholomew’s and King’s College Hospitals, before completing his medical oncology fellowship training at Guy’s and Christie Hospitals. He specialises in the treatment of lung cancer and HIV-related cancers.
Prof Lee is an international recognised authority on lung cancer treatment and research. He is chief, co-chief or senior Investigator for several National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) lung cancer studies, and his trials have led to changes in treatment paradigms for lung cancer patients. His work has been recognised at major international conferences with many invited presidential, plenary and oral lectures including at World Lung Cancer Conference, ASCO and ESMO. He has published and contributed to several practice-changing papers for both lung and other types of cancer, many as first or senior author in high-impact journals including NEJM, Nature, Lancet Oncology and JCO
