About me

I am a general consultant ophthalmologist with a sub-specialist interest in squints, glaucoma, neuro-ophthamology, blepharospasm and hemi-facial spasm.

I trained in London at hospitals including St Thomas' Hospital, Moorfields Eye Hospital and Southampton Eye Hospital.

I believe in a patient centred approach to medicine with individual patient care and plenty of time for discussion and examination.

I have worked with the international eye charity, Orbis as a volunteer surgeon for 25 years in some of the poorest countries of the world and more recently as a board trustee.

I have been an examiner and clinical tutor and regional representative for The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Clinical Director of two eye units, visiting lecturer at the School of Vision Sciences in Cardiff. I was appointed as an Honorary Professor of Ophthalmology at Hebei University, China in 2004.

Areas of interest

Strabismus ('squint'); Eye - external disorders; Glaucoma; neuro-ophthalmology; blepharospasm and hemi-facial spasm.
