About us

Tom is the lead physiotherapist, owner and clinical director at Tom Astley physiotherapy. Tom graduated UWIC with a degree in Science in Health, Exercise & Sport which lead him into gaining a further degree in Physiotherapy from Coventry University with a specialist interest in Sports Physiotherapy.

Since graduating in 2008, Tom has worked in both the NHS and private setting specialising the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy treating various acute and chronic conditions using a combination of exercise rehabilitation, manual therapy, and soft tissue therapy.
Tom’s work in the field of musculoskeletal medicine has given him a vast experience in treating a variety of conditions which has lead him to be selected for writing articles in both national and international blog websites including Outside Times Magazine, Sports Tape UK, & Total Women’s Cycling Magazine.

Tom’s has a keen interest in the field of sports physiotherapy and this has led him to work at international multisport competitions including Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and Baku 2015 European Games. Tom was based within the busy and dynamic polyclinic within the Athletes' Villages during Glasgow 2015 and Baku 2015.

Outside of work, Tom enjoys staying fit and healthy by attending the gym, partaking in football tournaments and road cycling with friends. The interests he holds outside of work drive him to help other achieve their goals. In rehabilitation, setting goals and achieving them is a crucial component to succeeding.
