Matthew has been working clinically for over 10 years with a focus in musculoskeletal podiatry. He holds an Honorary Consultant Podiatrist post at North Middlesex Hospital, London.
Following his undergraduate degree at University College London – London Foot Hospital he developed an interest in sports and dance pathologies. He went on to undertake masters in sports science. Clinically, Matthew works as part of the South East London Foot & Ankle Clinic LLP. He is a member of the professional body’s council and is the Dean of Podiatric Medicine, College of Podiatry.
He achieved Fellowship of the College of Podiatry in 2010 as well as a Fellowship of the Royal Society of Public Health. He was one of the founding Fellows of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine, RCPS(Glas). He worked on the successful project board, in the Department of Health (England) that achieved Independent Prescribing for podiatrists and physiotherapists
His main areas of interest are around MSK pathologies but he treats all conditions that affect the foot, ankle and associated structures. Soft tissue and nail surgery is undertaken in the minor surgery suite at BMI The Blackheath Hospital and the majority of private insurers recognise him.
He has worked on the national database for podiatric clinical practice and aims to embed his care in evidence based practice. He works closely with orthopaedic, physiotherapy and podiatric surgery colleagues to enable smooth referral pathways for all his patients.
