Dr Adam Cleary is an experienced NHS Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Supervisor and Trainer also in private practice based in Birmingham.
I have clinical and academic expertise across a wide range of mental and physical health problems, in General Hospitals and Psychiatric acute and community settings and have received health care award winning recognition of my clinical work. I have particular knowledge and skills in the psychological treatment of mood and affective disorders
Areas of interest
I am an experienced Consultant Clinical Psychologist both in the NHS and in independent practice. I qualified in 2002 at the University of Birmingham and am registered to practice in the UK. I work with adults of all ages. My specialist clinical areas are brain injury, trauma and abuse.
I work with people with a wide range of emotional problems but my approach is most useful for people who have have felt anxious or low for a long time, who have difficulties with relationships, or who have low self-esteem. I am happy to discuss any questions you may have.
I am a warm and honest clinician, with a genuine interest in getting to understand the unique make up of each person's mind and enthusiasm to enrich people to make a real difference in their lives.
I usually see clients in Birmingham but am happy to travel if required.

I have 15 years experience helping individuals with depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, family and relationship problems, grief and traumatic loss, personality disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, alcohol and drug misuse, chronic pain, medically unexplained symptoms and regularly work with people facing ill health, chronic or life threatening physical conditions. I also provide specialist neuropsychological assessment of acquired neurological and neurodegenerative disease.
