Areas of interest
We have long had a sense that how we deal with our emotions can have an impact on our physical selves. We now live in a time when we are truly beginning to understand how adverse life experiences literally shape the brain and make us more vulnerable to debilitating symptoms. When we converge our understanding of developmental neuroscience, attachment theory, neuroplasticity, trauma and the physiological threat response systems in the body, this has profound and powerful implications for how we can treat health problems affected by stress and by making psychotherapy briefer and more effective.
I work with people with a wide range of emotional problems but his approach is most useful for people who have have felt anxious or low for a long time, who have difficulties with relationships, or who have low self-esteem.
