About me

Mr Montasser Mahran is a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist with more than 15 years experience in the speciality. He completed his advanced laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery training in Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals. Currently he is the lead clinician for laparoscopy and hysterescopy service in Bedford Hospital. He introduced the keyhole hysterectomy and operative hysterectomy to Bedford and Manor BMI Hospitals.

Mr Mahran has broad range of skills in general gynaecology including medical and surgical management of menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic pain. His main areas of interest are gynaecological cancers, advanced laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy and colposcopy.

Mr Mahran is the Royal College Tutor and he is interested in medical education and like organising lectures, small groups and workshops. He also published numerous articles in medical journals.

Mr Mahran practice a holistic style of gynaecology. His aim is to empower patients with adequate information so that they can make the best decision for their own particular circumstances.

Areas of interest

I am trained in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology in East Anglia Region and completed advanced training in laparoscopic (keyhole) gynaecological surgery in Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals. He is currently a consultant in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology at Bedford Hospital.

I have broad range of skills in general gynaecology including medical and surgical management of menstrual disorders, endometriosis, fibroids and pelvic pain. My main areas of interest are gynaecological cancers, advanced laparoscopic surgery (keyhole hysterectomy), hysteroscopy and colposcopy.
