About me

Mr Ali was trained as "Ear, nose and throat surgery" specialist at the University Hospitals of Belfast, Swansea, and Middlesbrough. He was a 'clinical fellow' in the Head and Neck cancer surgery at the Free University Hospital, Amsterdam, Holland. He is the most senior and experienced substantive Consultant in "Ear, nose and throat surgery" (ENT) in the area. Having completed several senior managerial, clinical, academic, teaching, training and examining positions in the NHS and university settings for over 34 years (serving NHS for the last 46 years), he has acquired a large amount of practical experience, and clinical acumen to practice ‘sensible’ medicine rather than strictly scientific medicine. There is not a lot left which he has not dealt with during his clinical life, particularly, he knows, 'when not to do things'.

He is particularly interested in children's "Ear, nose and throat surgery" problems.

He has published extensively on the subject of "Ear, nose and throat surgery" (ENT) problems in the international peer reviewed medical journals.

After thorough investigations of "Ear, nose and throat surgery" problems, he prides himself in explaining and reassuring the patient’s worries about their symptoms, which may include fear of contracting any serious illness. Mr Ali has in the past focused on major Head and Neck cancer and ear surgery for over 25 years. However, now he concentrates and specialises in children’s "Ear, nose and throat surgery" and adult Rhinology (nose), otology (ear) and laryngology (throat) problems. He investigates the patient's symptoms by doing CT scans, MRI scans, Ultrasound scans, Barium swallows, Allergy tests, Various blood tests and endoscopic and microscopic examinations of the Ear, nose and throat.
