About me

Gethin has always aspired to work with sports people and active populations having originally studied a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Coaching qualifying with honors from UWIC in 2001. Gethin graduated from Cardiff's University of Wales College of Medicine with a BSc Hons degree in Physiotherapy in 2005. He has worked predominantly in the field of musculoskeletal physiotherapy and sports medicine. He completed 8 happy years in the NHS reaching the post of Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP). This role involved assessing and treating patients on an orthopaedic consultant waiting list as well setting up an Acute Knee Injury Clinic. The post involved requesting imaging such as X-rays and MRI scans as well as managing joint and soft tissue injuries with injection therapy having gained a Masters level qualification from the University of Nottingham.

Gethin's commitment to continued professional development is reflected in a number of post graduate courses and gaining a PgDip in Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham. He is currently completing his masters dissertation towards his MSc working in conjunction with the English Institute of Sport (EIS). This post graduate qualification provided accreditation to the Musculoskeletal association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP). Gethin gained membership having passed a clinical exam component in 2011. Membership is home to around 1000 Physiotherapists who have displayed clinical excellence in the field of neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy.

Apart from a successful career in the NHS Gethin has worked extensively in sports injury private practices in Cardiff and South Wales.

Gethin's passion, experience and qualifications in sports science and medicine have resulted in roles within elite sport including rugby with Newport Gwent Dragons and Wales U20s. For the last 5 years Gethin has worked in international football with the Football Association of Wales (FAW) between the mens intermediate squads.
