About us

Tom Murfitt is the Clinical Director of Oxford CBT. He established the service in 2012 in response to an increasing demand for fast access to therapy at times which suited people’s busy lives. He is a fully accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapy ,Occupational Therapist and Mindfulness teacher. With over a decade’s experience of using Cognitive behavioural therapy Tom has worked in both the NHS and private sector to help adults and children to overcome a range of difficulties. Tom has developed an interest in Mindfulness techniques and actively integrates these where appropriate with his CBT techniques.

Anxiety disorders (Panic, agoraphobia, PTSD, social anxiety, worry, phobias, OCD, hoarding);
Mood problems such as depression, bipolar disorder and seasonal affective disorder;
Eating disorders (binge eating, over-eating, bulimia);
Adjustment to health problems, pain, memory difficulties, and loss;
Unhelpful habits like perfectionism, procrastination and self-criticism;
Body image, confidence and self-esteem problems;
Unhelpful patterns of interacting with others and relationship difficulties;
