About me

Born in Dublin, Ireland, David moved to the UK in the late 60's.

Leaving college, David joined the Royal Navy, serving upon commissioned submarines. On leaving, David went straight into business in the City of London, eventually becoming Managing Director of a non-quoted Public company - a post he held for 13 years.

David retrained in psychotherapy, attending Edge Hill University to study Cognitive Behavioral Therapy at Master, gaining a PGC. This is in addition to an earlier Diploma and further certifications gained in CBT. David has developed a strong and empathetic understanding of human performances and it limitations, especially in stress inducing circumstances. Coaching those who become stuck or who in need of a more direct psycho-therapeutic intervention, has become a professional specialty David has naturally developed into.

Presently, David is a psychotherapist in private practice, accepting employee and private referrals from AVIVA, BUPA, Simply Health, Cigna, Vitality and Pru Health. David also works extensively within the medical/legal and rehabilitation sectors.

Let's work together

David is available to provide private and confidential one-on-one psychological counselling via the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing psycho-therapeutic sessions. These are conducted in discreet professional locations in Chester, Liverpool, Warrington and Manchester. Alternatively, this can be delivered off-site at client's premises. Session times, in terms of duration and frequency, are tailored to fulfill your specific needs.

So you're stuck

We nearly all at some stage in our lives become stuck upon a mental health problem. One that could benefit from having a private and candid non-judgmental conversation with a trusted professional psychotherapist. Sometimes, just a brief few minutes of Skype/phone coaching are enough to set a person up for the day. David provides both on-site face-to-face and remote psychotherapy and coaching services.

At Work
In his corporate life, David works as an Employee Assistance Program consultant,on-behalf-of employers and management consultancies, employee wellness and stress management prevention workshops. Life happens. It's estimated that at least a third of us will suffer from a depression or anxiety related mental health issue at some time in our lives. Why suffer unnecessarily, when professional and confidential help is at hand.
