About me

I am a qualified Accredited Counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, this means my practice has been deemed to meet the standard for a competent, ethical practitioner. After completeing my training, I have worked in the voluntary sector, refuges, women's agencies, health clinic and a Sure Start Children's Centre. I have been approved by the Derby City Council as a service provider. I have made appearances on Radio Derby to discuss relevant topics on specific mental health issues. I provide counselling for companies with a diverse range of backgrounds and needs for employer assistance programmes. I am currently a regional counsellor for Sporting Chance Clinic founded in 2000 by former Arsenal and England captain Tony Adams, working with addictions and destructive behaviours for professional and amateur sports people. I have also worked with individuals at the Dame Kelly Holmes Trust Project with people on the course who experience depression in their lives. I attend relevant workshops and lectures throughout each year in order to ensure that my practice is kept up to date. I work with an integrative approach, which means that i integrate ideas and insights drawn from different models in order to respond appropriately to the needs of individual clients. This approach supports my philosophy that no one approach suits all.
