About me

Dr Hunt trained in gastroenterology and liver disease, including liver transplantation at St Bartholomew's Hospital Smithfield, Southampton General Hospital and St Mary's Hospital Paddington. He also trained in General (Internal) Medicine. He was appointed to a joint consultant post between Kings College Hospital and Bromley Hospitals in 1993 and has continued to work at both sites. He developed the Gastroenterology service at the Bromley sites from scratch. He introduced ERCP to this group of hospitals and continues to perform weekly lists, both at Kings, a regional center for liver disease and the Princess Royal University Hospital, Farnborough, Kent.
He has wide experience of intestinal disease including complex inflammatory bowel disease, Coeliac disease and malnutrition. He is a visiting gastroenterologist to the Eating Disorders units at The Bethlem and Hayes Grove Priory psychiatric hospitals, with 20 yrs experience in caring for these patients.
In the last 4 years he has been increasingly involved in the diagnosis and care of patients with intestinal malignancy. He was the chairman of the South London Network Upper GI cancer working group 2010-2013 and is a member of the London Cancer Alliance Upper GI cancer group. He is a member of the national peer review team for Upper GI cancer.
He lives in Beckenham.
