About me

I am a Consultant with special interest in trauma and lower limb surgery. Over many years I have specialized in complex primary and revision hip and knee replacements. I maintain a busy tertiary practice and offer second opinions on complex hip and knee conditions.
I offer a sports approach to the hip joint for replacements that allows patients to mobilise within hours of surgery. I have worked extensively in collaboration with colleagues, to reduce the length of stay following joint replacements. Currently about 40% of my patients go home within 24 hours following hip and knee replacements. I will be trialling day case hip and knee replacements very soon.
I am one of the very few surgeons in Lincolnshire who carry out partial knee replacements successfully with excellent results.
While complex surgery itself is important, I place additional emphasis on enhanced recovery of patients following surgery.
One of my other key specialisations is arthroscopic surgery of the knee. I perform a minimally invasive procedure that allows patients to return home the same day, even after a knee ligament reconstruction or partial joint replacement.
I have undertaken advanced fellowships in Toronto, Canada and Birmingham, USA and have extensively trained in the latest techniques in trauma and joint replacement surgery.
I regularly attend international conferences, present didactic lectures, hold workshops and present papers.
Over the past 3 years I have undertaken in excess of 700 simple and complex joint replacements in addition to revisions.
