People come to therapy for a multitude of reasons and at various stages in their life. Whilst some have a vague sense of what they want, others swim in a sea of confusion and can sometimes find themselves drowning in patterns of repeated unhelpful negative patterns. Glenda's role is to help you make sense of your life and to help shift that which no longer serves you: disempowering stories from the past that keep you reliving old traumas and making choices that compromise you're well being.
She will help to create a safe space for you to tell the truth about your needs, hopes, and fears. She will facilitate a process that enables you to access your truth and align with your innate healing abilities. Glenda respects individuality and your right to choose and direct the course of your life. Glenda’s approach is respectful, professional and real. Patience in therapy is important, beyond perceived limitations lies a world of exciting possibilities.
Therapy is not a quick fix nor is it a one-size-fits all. It is an agreement between client(s) and therapist to commit to the therapeutic process even when faced with discomfort or uncertainty as to where it leads. It is a journey of Self-discovery and ultimately a return to a more authentic empowered Self. Glenda's extensive experience and working with thousands of clients all over the world has left me certain that change is possible when we commit to the journey:” Where there’s a Will there’s certainly a way”
Glenda is the founder of JustTalk2019 which operates as an affordable practice with trainee counsellors. Glenda is a media spokesperson for her membership body The BACP.
In 2019 Glenda and her team developed the first of its kind, Service Shop and Counselling Café, you can read all about it here: https://issuu.com/ukcp-publications/docs/new_psychotherapist_summer2019, both the BACP and the UKCP have embraced the new concept of the service shop and Counselling Cafe as a new way of counselling.
