I have extensive experience of working with people who are experiencing mental health and life difficulties. I am a registered CAT psychotherapist and accredited traininig supervisor in CAT.
My appraoch is to help people better understand the origins of their difficulties and to explore ways of creating meaningful change to those areas which are problematic. To work towards this goal I believe building a clear picture of the issues and giving space for these to be unpacked and attuned to and thought about is central. I use CAT letters and diagrams to help in this process. As a HCPC registed art psychotherapist I also bring art making into the exploration, if people wish to use this non verbal medium.
Areas of interest
I have over 20 years experince as a psychotherapist specialising in adult mental health. I specialise in time-limited and longer term therapy . I offer CAT and art psychotherapy as separate treatments or combine the two methods.
My approach is supportive whilst aiming to unpack and make sesne of painful themes for the individual. CAT explores interpersonal procedures. The heart of CAT is to provide a safe space to be listened to and to to be understood and empowered in healthy ways.
Art Psychotherapy involves using art media to explore feelings and thoughts. No previous artistic skill required.
