About me
Tim Nedas qualified from Guys’ and St Thomas’s Hospitals, gaining a Batchelor of Sciences in Molecular Medicine (the study of the molecular and genetic basis of cancer) in addition to his medical degree. His postgraduate training in Urology was undertaken on the London Deanery program including a dedicated year in Paedatric Urology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. During his Senior House Officer training Tim gained a Master of Sciences Degree in Urology (University College London) gaining a Distinction for his thesis; The development of a Virtual Reality Laparascopic Nephrectomy Simulator. Tim was also awarded the Geoffrey Chisholm Gold Medal for overall performance during the degree course; even more pleasing since Tim had been able to balance the degree without taking any time out of postgraduate clinical training.
Tim is a Consultant Urologist and the Clinical Lead for Urology at Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, working at both the North Hampshire Hospital and The Royal Hampshire County Hospital. As well as a general urological practice, Tim subspecialises in the management of kidney stone disease; operative intervention where required by means of keyhole surgery as well as preventitive treatment. He also offers a general paedatric urology service in the NHS and privately; this encompasses common surgical problems as well as the management of dysfunctional voiding and nocturnal enuresis.
Tim has recently become a trustee of the North Hampshire Medical Fund, a charity with the specific aim of raising funds for advanced medical equipment for the North Hampshire Hospital. In 2020 he was appointed the Regional Director for the Royal College of Surgeons in the south central region.
Having grown up in London, Tim now lives in Hampshire with his wife and young children. His hobbies include cooking, running and more recently gardening. Tim has run four marathons, completed a half ironman event, and cycled the Pyrennes stages of the Tour de France.
