About me

Katrina qualified in 1984 and worked initially in the NHS in London, Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury before joining Ramsay Health Care at their hospital in Chelmsford. She then moved to the Oaks hospital in Colchester in 1997.

Katrina has worked in the Out-patient setting since 1987 and became a Clinical Specialist in Men’s and Women’s Health 12 years ago. Katrina’s work has included the role of Extended Scope Practitioner for the past year in the assessment of patients going through Spinal Triage. She also has expertise in the treatment of spinal and pelvic problems, including Male and Female Pelvic Pain.

Her past roles have involved working with Consultants in the fields of Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Urology, Gastroenterology and Breast surgery. She has gained a local reputation in her treatment of Men, Women and Children with bladder and bowel associated problems, and has been treating patients referred from the local area and into Suffolk. Katrina has also worked very closely over the years with patients who have undergone breast surgery for Cancer.

Katrina, although Specialising in Men’s and Women’s Health, has continued to treat all conditions in the general out-patient setting, and will continue to do this at the Bodyworks Physiotherapy Clinic. Katrina has been trained in various areas of musculo-skeletal medicine including Cyriax, Mulligans and McKenzie. In addition Katrina is a guest lecturer on the MSc and BSc Physiotherapy courses at Essex University.

Louise qualified as a physiotherapist in 1990 and has worked in a wide variety of clinical settings both in the UK and overseas. She has enjoyed roles within the NHS, private sector, military, and has supported various sports teams from rugby and hockey to sailing and skiing.

From 2007 to 2013 Louise set up and ran a spinal service at The Oaks Hospital working as an Extended Scope Practitioner and managing a caseload of patients with complex spinal issues. She also attained a Certificate in Spinal Manual Therapy during this time. She continues to treat a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions, using acupuncture and manual therapy. She also teaches pilates.

Louise now splits her workload between Bodyworks and as part of the Advanced Level Physiotherapy team for Nuffield Health. Louise has two young children whom keep her busy and, together with her husband, enjoys an active lifestyle with plenty of travel.

Claire graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1997 and completed her junior Physiotherapy rotations at the Royal Berkshire and Battle NHS Trust. Since then Claire has worked predominantly in private practice and has worked closely with orthopaedic consultants in Colchester and London. Claire established her own private practice in London in 2009 before moving back to Essex to start a family.

Claire has attended numerous courses over the last 17 years to gain a greater depth of knowledge in all areas but she has a special interest in treating patients with back pain and shoulder pain. The treatment techniques Claire uses include manual therapy such as mobilisations, massage and trigger point release, taping, electrotherapy and the provision of exercise programmes. Claire thoroughly enjoys working with patients to help alleviate symptoms and aims to provide all patients with the necessary knowledge and exercises to help prevent problems from recurring in the future.

Claire is an experienced Pilates instructor and is also qualified to teach antenatal and postnatal Pilates.

In her spare time, Claire spends time with her little ones and squeezes in as much exercise as possible
