About me

I was appointed as a Consultant in Leicester in 1993, after a fellowship at The Hospital for Sick Childen. Great Ormond Street. I have a particular interest in paediatric orthopaedics and this now comprises 70% of my work. My other interests are adult hip replacement and impingement surgery, and adult foot disorders.

I have acted as Head of Service for Orthopaedics at the Leicester Royal Infirmary from 1997 to 1999 and as Clinical Director for Accident and Emergency and Orthopaedics from 2000 to 2001. I was Training Programme Director for Orthopaedics in South Trent Deanery from 2002 until 2007.

I have been an Examiner for the Intercollegiate FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) examination since 2004 and I was a member of the Speciality Advisory Committee for Trauma and Orthopaedics from 2006 to 2012.
