About me

I graduated as MD at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, Cum Laude, in 2002 and became a surgeon in 2008. I have undergone extensive training in the field of coloproctology, abdominal wall surgery and pelvic floor surgery in Belgium and in two renowned UK expert centres, Oxford and Basingstoke. Since 2013, I have been a staff member of the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.

My particular area of skill is in minimal invasive surgery, including laparoscopic (keyhole) and transanal surgery (TEM/TAMIS). I have published several peer-reviewed scientific papers and book chapters, with a main focus on pelvic floor pathology and minimal invasive techniques. I have given talks on pelvic floor disorders and minimal invasive colorectal surgery at various international surgical meetings, and have trained numerous other surgeons in the technique.
