About me

I am an experienced gastrointestinal surgeon with strong academic background. My main fields of expertise are malignant and benign conditions of the upper and lower GI tract. I graduated in Rome in 1992 and did my surgical training in Italy, UK, France, Germany and Austria, attending very busy tertiary centres and training units. I have been Consultant Surgeon from 1999 and have covered leadership roles within the NHS. I have been Visiting Professor of Human Anatomy and Surgery for several years and have published many scientific articles on international medical journals as a results of my research activity. I am particularly interested in Medical Education and have been Clinical and Educational Supervisor and Clinical Tutor for many years.
