About me
Mr. Kent is a Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon specialising in shoulder and elbow surgery.
He qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1999 and completed his specialist training in Trauma and Orthopaedics within the Cambridge region. The last year of his formal training was in an advanced fellowship covering upper limb trauma and elbow surgery. Following this he chose to spend a further year as a shoulder and elbow fellow at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Hospitals to gain further specialist skills in this field at a unit recognized internationally for this type of work. He was appointed as a Consultant in the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals NHS trust in 2011 (now Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust).
He was awarded a prestigious travelling fellowship from the British Shoulder and Elbow Society in 2013 allowing visits to specialist centres in North America bringing further skills and new techniques back to Liverpool. He has also been lucky enough to visit specialist units in the UK and Europe to learn and develop specialist skills.
He has an interest in research having previously completed a thesis in upper limb biomechanics as part of an MSc in orthopaedic Engineering. He is currently helping to expand research at the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals.
