Dr Mackworth-Young graduated from Cambridge University and St. Bartholomew’s Hospital. His training included posts at the Brompton Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital and two years as a research fellow at Tufts University New England Medical Center, Boston, USA. His clinical and research interests include connective tissue diseases, antiphospholipid syndrome and osteoarthritis, and he has published widely in these areas. He chairs a research ethics committee and has developed a nationally adopted method for peer review.
He is Medical Director and Chairman of the Medical Committee at King Edward VII’s Hospital.
