About me

I qualified in 1992 in India and subsequently pursued higher medical training in General (internal) Medicine leading to a post-graduate degree of MD in Internal medicine. I secured the highest grade with an accolade of a gold medal conferred by the Association of Physicians of India.

I came to the UK in 1999 where I did all my cardiology training. I commenced my Cardiology career at the Royal Brompton Hospital, London in 2002. Then I trained in Cardiology at John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford and Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester.

I undertook a translational research project evaluating the anti-arrhythmic properties of omega-3 fatty acids leading to a PhD from the University of Manchester. My research work was funded by a prestigious BHF clinical PhD fellowship, which I secured by a competitive application.

I pride myself as a fully rounded up cardiologist with a broad knowledge of general cardiology and a special interest in heart rhythm disturbances and heart failure. I enjoy talking to my patients and explaining complex issues relating to their heart health in very simple and easily comprehensible terms.
