About me

Ophthalmology has been a passion of mine for over a decade. I feel privileged to work in a branch of medicine that has constantly innovated and evolved and now has an array of successful life-changing treatment options for patients.

I have sub-specialist qualifications in cataract and laser eye surgery (the Royal College Certificate in refractive surgery and the University of Ulster postgraduate diploma).

My training has been extensive and I have actively sought training in the most advanced, successful and safest forms of surgery. I am one of a handful of surgeons who is fellowship trained in treating both corneal disorders and glaucoma.

My practice of medicine has always had a firm emphasis on a patient centered approach. I value taking the time to ensure you are fully informed of your condition, of all the available treatment options and their relative risks and benefits. This is vital in making the correct choice for something as precious as your sight.

Fellowships (Advanced surgical training):

2012 Cornea - NIIOS (Melles Corneal Clinic & Amnitrans Eyebank), Rotterdam, Netherlands
An internationally recognised centre for pioneering corneal endothelial transplant techniques

2011 Glaucoma - Queens Medical Centre, Nottingham
An internationally recognised centre of excellence for glaucoma research
