About me

About Me...
I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and counsellor; I provide confidential short term counselling to adults in my comfortable consulting rooms in Bank, Waterloo, and West London.

Accountability
I am UKCP accredited and have regular supervision by registered clinical supervisors. I am passionate about keeping abreast of clinical developments in the field and share knowledge with clients where appropriate.

Clinical Expertise
I am very experienced with a wide range of psychological and emotional issues, including anxiety, stress, relationships and depression, whether this has been a long standing or recent development; whether it is work based or a personal matter. I also have particular expertise with trauma ( persistent and overwhelming stress reactions) and am a qualified EMDR practitioner.
I also work with couples.

Clinical Experience
I have held a range of senior posts within the NHS and private sector including, trauma therapist at the NHS Maudsley Hospital, Staff Counsellor at HSBC bank, and I provide counselling for NHS paramedic team. I helped set up the male only stress clinic in Westminster where I offered short term counselling.

Approach
Sometimes we can feel stuck in life and we realise it may take another person to assist us through a difficult time.I offer you a space to be heard, and understood in a way that helps you think about what changes you want and how you could get started.
It is not easy to take that first step but clients have often said I "I hit the nail on the head".
My techniques which include some CBT and EMDR are recognised by governing bodies including NICE, and are effective especially for stress, anxiety and trauma whether recent or in the distant past.

How to start
After an initial call , I book a 50 minute assessment with you, during which I take a history and we explore areas you want to focus on. Sessions then tend to be weekly but I am also flexible where appropriate. If you have further questions then please email or call me using the details attached
