About me

John has worked in the National Health Service since the 1970s first training as a State Registered Nurse. He then trained as a Mental Health Nurse. He has worked in the field of Mental Health since 1982 apart from a brief period working in the Middle East. Separate to this he is also a Graduate of The University of Wales, Bangor (MEd [Couns]) and The John Moore’s University Liverpool (MSc). He has also been involved in health research over the years and has a number of peer reviewed publications to his name (See list of Peer Reviewed Papers). John is also an Honorary Lecturer in mental health and psychotherapy at Bangor University.

John trained as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist at the University of Chester and is an Accredited Psychotherapist with the British Association of Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP).

Those attending for psychotherapy can be assured that their Psychotherapist is a qualified health professional (on Nursing and Midwifery Council National Register, www.nmc-uk.org). He is also an accredited Psychotherapist on the National Register held by the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, (www.babcp.org). In addition John also has regular [monthly] structured clinical supervision with a more senior Psychotherapist colleague.
