About me
We may at different times struggle with feelings of loneliness, depression, anxiety and anger. They may well overwhelm us in the belief that there is no-one there who might help. Even the thought of talking to someone close to us, may seem only to add to the anxiety. We can feel widely dissatisfied, “stuck” and unhappy with life. Counselling and Psychotherapy is a chance to talk in confidence with a qualified and experienced therapist, safely away from daily pressures.
Painful, confusing or negative thoughts, feelings and patterns of behavior, may have come to be repeated in our daily life and current relationships with our partners, friends, family and colleagues at work. Where they have been established in early childhood or from later experience or trauma, counselling and psychotherapy can help us to understand these patterns and where they come from, with a view to changing them. Although we may be able to change the way we behave, changes to the deeper feelings underpinning what we think, can occur more gradually as trust is established in the therapy. We begin with an initial session to explore the help you may need and how I can help. We may then jointly agree regular therapy which can be a once or twice weekly session and whether that would be short term or longer term.
