About me

I am a BACP Accredited counsellor with over 15 years of counselling experience. Although my core approach is person-centred I also have experience and training in cognitive behavioural therapy, trauma and couples and relationship counselling.
I have experience in relationship issues, bereavement, depression, trauma, anger and stress management and workplace stress and anxiety. I have a particular interest in later life issues. I have worked in a number of settings including voluntary agencies and extensively within Employee Assistance Programmes and have experience in conflict resolution in the workplace.

Counselling can provide a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment that enables us to explore current issues in our lives in the context of our experience. It is a creative process, which facilitates healing and change as we gain insight into our patterns of behaviour and ways of being in the world. I believe in the power of each individual to heal themselves and see counselling as both a collaborative and facilitative process leading to personal growth and healing.

I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling and Certificates in Person Centred Couple Counselling and Critical Incidence Stress Management.

As a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am bound by its Code of Ethics and Practice.
