About me
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Hull and am currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Cambridge. As a clinical psychologist I am skilled in assessment, formulation, interventions, evaluation, research, supervision and teaching. Depending on the nature of the presenting difficulty I utilise my experience of a number of psychological and therapeutic models including cognitive behavioural therapy, behavioural therapy, solution focus ideas, hypnotherapy, systemic and family therapy. Therefore I am able to specifically tailor my intervention to the presenting problems, individual needs and our agreed therapeutic goals.
Prior to going in private practice, I worked for over 9 years in the NHS; 6 years post-qualified as a Highly Specialised Clinical Psychologist within a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service, offering individual and family interventions. Currently, I am running a clinical trial into trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy for post traumatic stress disorder at the Medical Research Council Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit, Cambridge.
