About me

Mr Baker is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in joint replacement surgery of the hip and knee. He is based at the Avon Orthopaedic Centre and has a specialist interest in revision surgery for failed hip and knee replacements receiving tertiary referrals from the south west of England. Revisions are performed for failure from infection, fracture, loosening, pain and reaction to metal debris. Mr Baker performs in excess of 300 joint replacements a year.

He went to medical school in Manchester graduating in 1999. His orthopaedic training was in Bristol. He is on the GMC specialist register.

He is fellowship trained having spent one year in the prestigious Vancouver adult lower limb joint reconstruction unit. Subsequently he has visited Munster (Germany) as an AO fellow in trauma and Laussane (Switzerland) as the British Hip Society European Travelling fellow.

He is the Editor-in-Chief of Hip International and has numerous research publications in hip and knee surgery.
