Mr Scarci undertook his specialist training in Italy, Malta, Essex Cardiothoracic Centre and Guy's and St Thomas'. He spent 6 months between University of Toronto and McMaster University for a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery. Mr Scarci’s practice is in pure thoracic surgery. He works closely with a large team including other surgeons, specialist nurses, radiologists and physicians to provide together with them the best outcome for patients.
His key focus is minimally invasive surgery. Recently his main focus has been on reducing aggressiveness of surgery. 85% of his cases are done by key-hole approach and many by single incision.

Mr Scarci's areas of major interest are resection of locally advanced cancer, malignant mesothelioma, rehabilitation after thoracic surgery and clinical trials.

Mr Scarci is actively involved in leadership roles with many national and international societies and actively teaches to major meetings around the world.
