I qualified in medicine from Bombay University, India in 1993. I trained in Anaesthetics completing my MD after which I did a post doctoral research fellowship at Stanford University, USA. To further my interest in Pain and Anaesthetics I trained as a Specialist Registrar in the Oxford deanery and completed my Fellowship in Pain Medicine from Imperial School of Anaesthesia. I was appointed as a Consultant in Anaesthesia in Pain Medicine in 2010.
I believe in early intervention in the management of chronic pain. My clinics offer a holistic and comprehensive service which includes advise on drug management, review of current medicines and interventional treatments such as:
- Facet joint injections for neck and back pain
- Sacroiliac joint injections
- Radiofrequency denervation or ablation
- Epidural with steriods
- Peripheral nerve blocks
- Trigger point injections
- Nerve root blocks
My philosophy in managing chronic pain is to adopt a multidisciplinary approach that includes referrals to physiotherapy and pain management programs.
I specialise in treating neuropathic pain, CRPS, pelvic pain, facial pain, neck and back pain.
I am also proficient in Hindi and Tamil and am able to provide consultation services in these languages.
In addition, I work as a Consultant Anaesthetist and provide a full anaesthetic service to all types of surgeries.
I keep abreast of the latest developments in my field by regularly attending courses and conferences both here and abroad. My research interests have resulted in several publications in international journals in the field of newer Analgesic Agents, Techniques for managing Difficult Airway and Experimental Pain.
