I am a Chartered Counselling Psychologist offering psychological therapy and counselling to individuals and couples.
My approach to therapy is mainly informed by Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Metacognitive Therapy, Mindfulness based CBT, and Systemic and Narrative therapies. With competency in several models of therapy, I am able to offer a highly skilled and individualised assessment and treatment.
The focus of my work is to help you to regain a sense of control of your life and to feel less overwhelmed by adversity. Through therapeutic conversations we can gain a better understanding of the challenges you are facing. Together we can identify what changes you are hoping to make and how we can most effectively work towards these.
I have an open and non-judgemental attitude towards the issues you may wish to address. I conduct the therapy sessions with your goals and needs in mind and seek to establish a confidential environment where you can feel comfortable and safe.
I have many years of experience working with individuals and families. I have previously worked in local authority services, hospitals and mental health institutions. Ten years ago, I established my private practice in Central London where I offer therapy to people dealing with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, and bereavement. I have specialised in helping high-performing professionals recreate balance in stressful lives.
I gained my academic degrees from the University of Copenhagen, Denmark, and I am authorised by the Danish Supervisory Board of Psychological Practice. I am chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I continuously seek to develop my professional skills by attending accredited courses and workshops, and I regularly undergo supervision. I have completed the Level 1 Diploma in Metacognitive therapy and am a registered therapist with the MCT-Institute.
