I have a specialist interest in advanced laparoscopic surgery. I refined my skills in the top UK and international centers (Belgium, Japan, USA).
My private practice focuses on laparoscopic (key-hole) surgery for hernia, sport hernia and gallbladder. I perform these operations routinely and train young surgeons in these procedures. I would be happy to consider referrals also for complex cases. I graduated in medicine and specialized in surgery with Honours in Rome, Italy (1996).
I spent the next two years in a research fellowship in breast cancer with a grant from the Italian Foundation of Cancer Research.
I was appointed Consultant in 1999 and worked in Italy for many years in the field of major cancer surgery and general surgery.
I was headhunted by the NHS and moved to Scotland in 2005 to my current post as consultant surgeon for NHS Fife where I still enjoy working.
