I offer Bupa customers standard cataract surgery on the Full Pathway package option at Circle Reading, Spire Dunedin Hospital, Optegra Eye Hospital London .
This package includes your appointments before and after surgery, as well as your surgery and mono-focal lenses. It means you won’t use up your out-patient benefit or receive any additional bills from your surgeon (or anaesthetist, if you need one) for eligible treatment.

Mr Ahmed El-Amir is a leading international ophthalmic surgeon. He trained at London’s Moorfields Eye Hospital and at the Oxford Deanery School of Ophthalmology. Mr El-Amir is a member of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and The American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is chair of clinical governance at the Prince Charles Eye Unit, Windsor.

Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon - King Edward VII Hospital, Windsor
Mr El-Amir has researched a new surgical viewing system for retinal surgery and has worked in the laboratory to identify the safety profiles for surgical dyes in macular hole surgery. Mr El-Amir has collaborated with the University of Oxford to establish the epidemiological data for the whole of England for vitrectomy surgery and retinal detachment in order to understand these conditions better. He continues with this research work.
Ahmed was born in Colorado, USA and raised in London. He is a keen sportsman, playing competitive non-league football with background experience from the Tottenham Football Club Academy and Senior Southern and Conference Football. He was the top goal scorer for his medical school winning the ‘double’ of the Hospitals Cup and University Cup.
